Jacques Rancière

Oliver Ressler Wien

Born 1970, lives and works in Vienna. As an artist, he directs projects on various socio-political themes. Since 1994 he has been working on exhibitions, projects in outdoor spaces and videos that address various themes such as economics, racism, gene technology, resistance practices and social alternatives. His videos are presented in the artistic field, at video festivals, political events and occasionally shown on television. In 2002 he was awarded by ZKM the first International Media Art prize for his video "This is what democracy looks like!".
